• No new members joined this month.  Tony Salinas former member came to meeting.  Welcome back.
• Richard payed out all monies tied to November and December tournament.’
• Club talked about ordering tee shirts for anyone interested.  Club voted yes and will make order for shirts at the January meeting for any members and family.
• January tournament will be hald at Lake Travis on the 23rd from 7am to 3pm at Tournament point ramp.  Tourmanent directors will be Mike Harmon and Bubba Balusek.
• Round table – Jackie spoke about the newsletters being torn up by the time he gets his.  Club will start mailing newsletters in envelopes.
• Fundraisers – club talked about having a jackpot tournament or a fish fry.  Club voted for fish fry.  More detailes to come in future meeting.
• Drawing for door prize – Morris Porter won gift certificate for a entry fee to one of the up coming tournaments.

  • Lake Bastrop – December 12th 6:30 to 2pm @ north shore ramp.
  • Jackie, Dan, Bubba and Willie – Tournament Directors.
• December meeting will be the 3rd Thursday of the month (17th) due to Christmas Holidays @ the Bluebonnet Training center just west of Bastrop on HWY 71.
• Drawing for the $20 waiver for entry fee to one of the up coming tournaments.  Dan Starling won prize.

• Important bylaw regualtions for monthly tournaments.
  • $2 big bass monthly Contest – Members voted not to participate this season. (Article IV)
  • Checking Livewells – Checking livewells is to be worked on an honor system but if anyone is asked by a tournament director they must present their livewell. (No actual bylaw, work off honer system.)
  • Leave time before tournament start time – Anglers may not leave the ramp area where they launched 10 minutes prior to the stated start time of the tournament. (Article VI #1)
  • Paying for Monthly tournament before hand – Members participating in club tournaments shall pay tournament entry fee before tournament start. (Article VI #15)
  • Unclaimed monies – Any unclaimed monies will be deposited back into the clubs funds 90 days after club tournament. (Article IV)
• Anyone interested in joining the club but cannot make it to any of the Monthly Meeting may be voted in at the Monthly Tournaments and the boatramp.
• The new board of directors for the 2009-2010 season are: Jimmy Mathison, Jackie Spurlock, Joe Frey and Carl Clardy.
• Club Dues are due every year in September.  Any returning members have until the January meeting(4 months after the start of new season) to have dues paid or they will have to be voted back in to join the club.
• BCBC funds – the club has $700 dollars in funds for the new season.
• Club is looking for new ideas to bring to the next meeting for any fundraisers for this season.

  • Jackie and Dan 2nd place – 3.47lbs

• Drawing for the $20 dollar door prize from Nixon Engineering was drawn – Richard Fuller won prize.
• Next Monthly meeting will be held November 19th (3rd Thursday of the Month) at the First National Bank of Bastrop (Main Building) due to Thanksgiving Holidays.

TABC Top 8 update: The 2008 TABC championship tournament will be held Sept. 27th – 28th at Lake Belton w/ the captains meeting the evening of the 26th. The club will pay for and reserve 4 rooms for our top 8 anglers – 26th and 27th … two nights.

It was nominated for vote at our next meeting… to help stimulate meeting attendance / participation… 1/2 LB will be added to each angler’s total weight for each meeting they attend. If approved, this change will take effect next month. This was the only proposed change to be voted on for the annual BCBC By-Law update.

Notice was made regarding the posting of BCBC angler’s name, monthly tournament results, standings, bylaws, and pictures on the www.bastropbassclub.com web site.

The July tournament results were not available at the meeting and will be posted in next month’s news letter and on the BCBC web site.

There will be no August BCBC fishing tournament. In May of this year the club held two tournaments and at that time agreed not to hold a tournament during one of the slower summer months.

August’s BCBC meeting will be held the 4th Thursday at 7:30PM at the usual location of the 1st National Bank in Bastrop on HWY71… please attend.

55 teams participated in this year’s Covert Open. This was an all time high yielding $5200 to the Children’s Advocacy Center. Thank you all BCBC members who helped support this event.

It was recommended to include the BCBC monthly meeting in the Community Calendar of the Bastrop News Paper… Jimmy said he would look into this.
